Taylor is a native to Kansas, growing up in a little town just south of
Wichita. Since a very young age, she always loved caring for babies – so
much that her mom used to call her a “little mother hen.” With any given
opportunity, she would quickly volunteer to hold, watch, or just simply feed
a baby (and good luck getting him/her back)! Growing up with three sisters,
two of which were younger, and her mom running an in-home daycare, she had
several opportunities to help. This led her to realize that she wanted
nothing more than to become a nurse and care for this young population. By
high school, she knew that eventually she wanted to become a nurse
practitioner. She started completing prerequisites as soon as she could in
high school and once graduated, went off to NWOSU to obtain her Bachelor of
Science in Nursing degree, completing this in 2015. She started her nursing
career on a Labor and Delivery/Nursery unit in Oklahoma for her first 2.5
years before moving back near home in 2017. She then worked in the Neonatal
ICU at Wesley Medical Center for the next 6 years. She loved this
population, but knew that it was time to move on and pursue her goal of
becoming a nurse practitioner. Not only does she love caring for young
babies, but she knew she wanted to care for children and their families as
well. She loves educating and providing recourses to parents during this
stage in life and has a passion for breastfeeding support as well. She
graduated in 2022 with her Master of Science in Nursing, a Family Nurse
Practitioner degree from Graceland University and started at a family
practice in 2023. She then began her career at MKPA in 2024 and is truly
excited for all the families she will meet along the way. She is committed
to providing the same kind of care for your children as she would her very
own.
A little more on the personal side of things, she is married to her high
school love, Michael, and they have two children, Ramey and Ander. They
provide her with a constant reminder of what life is all about and she never
takes a day with them for granted. A perfect day is a slow one, spent at
home, perhaps with extra family too - sun shining, meat cooking on the
smoker, and the kids playing in the backyard. Just about every summer, you
can find them on a boat at Beaver Lake!
