Every day, your child is developing mentally, physically, and emotionally. As they age, they must have a pediatrician who can serve their ever-changing needs. Well-child examinations are a preventive healthcare schedule outlined by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) where our doctor conducts a physical examination, asks questions about development, and administer vaccines. Well-Child Examinations: What to Expect

The American Academy of Pediatrics establishes a basic schedule, known as the periodicity schedule, that specifies when a doctor should perform well-child examinations in Wichita, or Derby, KS. There are four stages: infancy, early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence. Our pediatrician will perform a physical examination at each stage, which includes blood and urine tests, checking internal organs by feeling the abdomen, listening to the heart and lungs, and administering hearing tests. They'll also check your child's weight, including body mass index, and examine the eyes, ears, tongue, feet, hands, and reflexes. Our pediatrician will also discuss nutrition and social behaviors (if applicable) during this visit. You'll also have the opportunity to express concerns about your child's eating, sleeping, or social behaviors.
